Le Cren condition index (A) and gonado somatic index (GSI, B) for males and females sardinella (Sardinella aurita and Sardinella maderensis) sampled at two periods (January, March) of the upwelling season at Thiaroye harbor (Senegal). For Le Cren, linear model shows an effect of species (p < 0.01) and of sampling month (p < 0.001; see Tab. S1 for statistical details). For GSI, linear mixed model shows an interactive effect between sex and sampling month (p < 0.05; See Tab. S2 for statistical details).
