Target strength frequency responses, TS(f), of high-quality echoes (Fig. 1, squares) of Sg1. Colors of the lines indicate the vertical swim velocities of fish (color bar). The TS(f) curves of the same individual showed variations in shape and TS at 70 kHz (a measure of TS level of each TS(f)).
