Aquatic Living Resources joins the open access movement

EDP Sciences is pleased to announce that Aquatic Living Resources (ALR) will publish all articles open access from January 2022. For authors who submit their papers before 28 February 2022, special article processing charges (APCs) waivers are offered so that submission will be free of charge. ALR has been published by EDP Sciences since 2015 - online only since 2016 - and has offered a popular ‘Open Access Option’. Now, with a move to full open access, its published research will be more accessible than ever.

The Impact Factor of Aquatic Living Resources has increased steadily over the last few years, reaching 1.885 this year (84% increase). The editorial team, led by Pierre Boudry, François Le Loc'h, Olivier Thébaud and Verena Trenkel, is convinced that the transition to open access will contribute to further success. It will enable wider dissemination of published results and authors will also benefit from the transition. Articles will be published under a CC-BY license, enabling authors to retain copyright and be fully compliant with any open access requirements of funding organisations.

Aquatic Living Resources publishes original research papers, review articles and prospective notes dealing with all exploited (i.e. fished or farmed) living resources in marine, brackish and freshwater environments. Priority is given to ecosystem-based approaches to the study of fishery and aquaculture social-ecological systems, including biological, ecological, economic and social dimensions.
